Becoming parents is one of the hardest adjustments you will ever have to make in your relationship with your spouse. Second to that, leaving that tiny little human you created and are choosing to raise, SCARY!!

My husband, Spencer, and I, decided we were going to take the leap, leave the kiddo with the grandparents, and enjoy a short vacation on our own.

This was our first floor, swim-out suite! It was INCREDIBLE, this was our view every day! The resort was barely busy due to the time of year and post-covid travel decrease. We were feet away from the swim-up bar, and could see the ocean through those palm trees. It was a dream come true!

We relaxed, drank come coffee and cocktails, and enjoyed it just being the two of us again.

Now, don’t get me wrong, we called Hadley 1-2 times a day to see her because we missed her so much.

But… our relationship as a couple 100% improved. We were able to be a couple again, instead of just parents.

We decided to indulge and enjoy a floating breakfast. Yes, you read that right, we ate breakfast in our swim-out pool and it was DELICIOUS!

We had:

  • Assorted fruit

  • Stuffed french toast

  • Breakfast burrito

  • Assorted breads and pastries

  • Mimosas, green juice, and coffee

We loved our time together, and now, back to the kiddo and reality!

MUST HAVE DRINK!

El Dorado’s very own signature drink, Ti Dxuladi, served in a traditional clay pot, blending the rich flavors of Irish cream, coffee liquor, agave nectar, and of course, mezcal.
